Christopher Julian Pritchett

Born in Chippenham, Christopher Julian Pritchett (“Chris”) undertook an intercalated degree in anatomy and medicine at Bristol in 1974. After house jobs, he spent a year as an anatomy demonstrator in Nottingham before moving to the Newcastle area for his surgical training.Chris gained an MD from the University of Bristol in 1983 for his work on cellular proliferation in human colorectal cancer and mucosa in vitro. He maintained an interest in colorectal cancer and surgery throughout his career. However, he had a much broader view than just the bowel and was lecturer in gastric, endocrine and breast, as well as colorectal surgery at the University of Hong Kong from 1986 to 1990.
