He oversaw the changes for over 30 years that took the surgery from a small branch to the modern four site Churchill Medical Centre, looking after 28 000 patients. His kindness and equanimity ensured that, throughout his years as senior partner and despite the tumultuous changes in approach and personnel, his ability to manage people ensured that the practice flourished.In retirement he consolidated his position as pillar of the local community as church warden, regularly visiting local people and his grateful colleagues until a few months before his death.He leaves Diana, his wife of 48 years; two sons; four grandchildren; and the families of his eight siblings.Duncan Clements was a GP who was the embodiment of the golden age of being a GP.
