SAS doctors in England accept government’s pay offer

Specialist, associate specialist, and specialty (SAS) doctors in England have accepted a pay offer from the government.The BMA’s SAS UK Committee announced on 18 June that in a referendum 79% of members had voted to accept the offer. The committee has now accepted the offer on behalf of the profession.This pay offer is the second to be presented to the committee. The first was rejected by members when 62% of respondents felt the deal did not go far enough.1Under the terms of the new offer, SAS doctors on 2021 contracts in England will see an annual pay increase of between 9.5% and 19.4%.
