Colchicine for people with type 2 diabetes and coronary heart diseaseTrials show that low dose colchicine after a recent myocardial infarction has a modest protective effect against further cardiovascular events, probably through its anti-inflammatory effect. A secondary analysis of data from one of these trials suggests that the benefits apply particularly to people with type 2 diabetes.
