Theo Alexander Lambros

Theo Alexander Lambros was educated at Stretford Grammar School before going to Manchester Medical School in 1950. There he held varied posts from rag magazine editor and union bar secretary to president of the medical students’ council. After a mix of house jobs, he settled in general practice in Oldham, Lancashire. While working as a GP, he served on the executive council and family planning clinic, later becoming chairman of both the local medical committee in Oldham and the Oldham postgraduate medical centre. His medical interests stretched from medical officer in infant welfare clinics to clinical assistant in geriatrics at the Royal Oldham Hospital. For many years he would be accompanied by medical students attached to the practice. Predeceased by his wife, Doris, he leaves two sons, one daughter, 10 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
