Researchers have found that livers used in transplantations can have a very long life—25 were found to have lasted at least 100 years if their lives in donors and recipients were added up. And 14 are still going.Long live the liver!Indeed. The researchers from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center said that the longest liver they found had lasted a grand total of 108 years. They looked at data from 253 406 liver transplants in the US between 1990 and 2022 which used organs from deceased donors.
