35 Weeks Pregnant
Approximately five weeks to go until you have your little one in your arms. If you haven’t already, now is a great chance to start washing those baby clothes for their arrival. Wash them in gentle laundry detergent and hang them out to dry, as ultraviolet light from the sun can help kill bacteria on your clothes. However, clothes need to be completely dry to kill the bacteria.
How is your baby growing when 35 Weeks Pregnant?
Your baby now measures 32cm from head to bottom and weighs about 2.3kg. They have perfected the art of sucking and swallowing and have been doing this for a few weeks now. Their toenails and fingernails are fully formed but don’t worry, they are paper-thin, and you won’t notice them.
What You May Feel
You may be feeling more and more excited but also a little nervous about the upcoming birth. It is essential to voice these concerns with your support team so they know how you are feeling and help you through them. You may want to discuss different scenarios: what if I go into labour and no one is at home? Who do I call first? How quickly can I get support? Will you always have your phone on? Having the answer to these questions can make you feel much more at ease.
Tips when you are 35 Weeks Pregnant
You are reaching the end of your pregnancy, which means preparation is essential. Now is a great time to go through your baby checklist and make sure you have everything you need.
- Is the car seat installed?
- Have you arranged a safe sleeping space for your baby?
- Do you have enough nappies?
Don’t stress too much; as long as you have the essentials, everything else can wait.
