CDC advisers endorse Pfizer, Moderna Covid vaccines for children under 5

A expert panel advising the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention voted unanimously Saturday to recommend Covid-19 vaccines developed by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna be made available to children as young as 6 months old.

Although the vote is nonbinding, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky is expected to sign off on the recommendation from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, or ACIP, later Saturday. Shots could be available at pharmacies and other providers as soon as Monday.
