STAT+: Former Lilly manager files whistleblower lawsuit over manufacturing failures at production plant

A former Eli Lilly human resources officer sued the drug company after claiming she lost her job for alerting management to a host of alleged manufacturing problems at a New Jersey plant.

Amrit Mula alleged that Lilly employees failed to comply with standard manufacturing procedures required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Among the issues she cited were failures to report contamination, improperly disposing of caustic substances in waterways, and falsifying quality assurance testing, according to the lawsuit filed in a federal court in New Jersey.
