20 Weeks Pregnant

Congratulations, you have made it halfway! Of course, we don’t know exactly when your baby’s birthday is, but it is still an exciting milestone. You may start to think about your baby’s birth now and the options available. It is an excellent time to book antenatal classes, which will help educate you to make an informed decision.

How your baby is growing when 20 Weeks Pregnant?

Your baby now measures 16cm from head to bottom, weighs about 320gm, and their heartbeat is 120-160 beats per minute. Your midwife or doctor will use a doppler to listen to your little one’s heartbeat at appointments, which many parents find reassuring. An incredible fact is that your baby’s first teeth and permanent teeth form by this stage, deep in the gums.

What You May Feel

You may feel a little short of breath as your uterus takes up more space and pushes some of your organs, such as your heart and lungs, into a smaller space. As a result, some women experience the temptation to stop exercising. However, it is better to consider a less strenuous form of exercise; for example, you could try walking or swimming instead of jogging. As your baby’s arrival gets closer, you may have exciting but somewhat frustrating discussions about baby names. Remember, your hormone levels are elevated, which can cause some women’s moods to fluctuate. Sometimes, it is best to stop a conversation and discuss things later.
