STAT Plus: Drug companies, Canadians, pharmacists and more blast Trump’s drug importation plan
WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is being flooded with opposition to its plan for allowing states to import cheaper drugs from Canada.
In December, the Trump administration released a draft plan that would allow states to partner with drug wholesalers to import drugs from Canada. A number of states, including Florida, Colorado, and Maine, are already champing at the bit to start importing, the Trump administration will have to overcome monumental opposition from nearly every corner of the drug supply chain if it wants to finalize the pathway that will make that possible.
