25 Weeks Pregnant

Approximately fifteen weeks to go! Your baby has now reached viability, which means if they are born, they have a reasonable chance of survival. Of course, this chance increases with each week you are pregnant, so the longer your baby stays in utero (your belly), the better.

In this week, your baby now measures 22.5cm long and weighs about 720gm, and their spine continues to form at this stage. You may find your baby reacts if you or your partner speak, which is an essential part of the bonding process that begins at this early stage.

What You May Feel

You may start to develop some stretch marks. These appear on the surface of your skin, and they can be pink, red, purple or brown, depending on your skin colour. These affect 80% of women in pregnancy, so know that you aren’t alone. You can research different creams to try, but know that eventually, they change colour and fade with time.

Tips when you are 25 Weeks Pregnant

Stretch marks can also cause itching. If this is the case, find a massage oil or cream and have your partner rub it into the itchy areas. A massage is a great way to include your partner in the pregnancy, while it also offers you relief from aches and pains. So often, partners can feel helpless about what they can do to support you during your pregnancy. By being open with your partner about your needs, you’ll find resentments are less likely to build.
