David Wild
David Wild was a highly respected general practitioner in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, where he served his practice population for over 35 years. He was passionate about putting patients first and was a strong advocate for continuity of care. He strived to deliver this within his consultations, in the direction he provided for his practice and in the work he did at local and national level in the development and commissioning of patient services. He was a GP trainer for most of his career, passing on his skills and knowledge, and inspired many younger GPs with his values and commitment. He was the clinical chair of Calderdale clinical commissioning group and cancer clinical lead, during which time he championed rapid access to treatment, and the gold standards framework for excellence in palliative and end-of-life care.
