I share the concerns expressed by Salisbury about the poor track record of large NHS IT projects.1 I remember the debacle of the NHS Programme for IT all too well. Similarly, the General Practice Data for Planning and Research caused concerns around transparency and communication. This is why confidence in the latest major NHS IT tender, which, as Salisbury says, Palantir is a favourite to win, is not high.
