Quarantine for close contacts has been cut from seven days in a state facility to five days, and three days at home, and officials will also stop recording secondary contacts, so many people will avoid having to quarantine at all.Public anger against sudden, punitive lockdowns is reportedly growing in major cities, such as Beijing, where 118 new local cases last Saturday led to its population of 22 million being ordered to take PCR tests every day, and access to offices and leisure venues was limited.
