STAT Plus: New Sanofi CEO wants to tap digital technology to improve drug research and sales

Paul Hudson, who started as CEO of Sanofi Monday, believes there is “magic” to be unlocked in the French drug giant by employing digital technologies like smartphones to speed clinical trials and picking the right experimental drugs to pursue.

“It’s been a long summer waiting,” Hudson, 51, said this past weekend ahead of taking the reins. “I am champing at the bit.”
