Architects of a radical plan to improve people’s health and cut long term sickness say that this could revive Britain’s economy and save the NHS £18bn a year by the mid-2030s.The Commission on Health and Prosperity, set up by the Institute for Public Policy Research, has called for a new “health creation system” to work alongside the NHS’s “sickness service.”1It said that creating better health in all realms of life—including work, school, and home—could solve many of Britain’s most pressing economic challenges, including low growth and productivity.
