Frontline NHS staff will continue to be offered a covid vaccine as part of this year’s autumn programme despite the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) having recommended a more limited rollout.The advisory committee has recommended that a covid vaccine should be offered to people over 65, residents of care homes for older people, and anyone aged over 6 months in a clinical risk group.12Unlike last year, the JCVI does not recommend the vaccine for frontline health and social care workers, staff working in care homes for older adults, unpaid carers, or household contacts of people with immunosuppression.
