Raul Perez-Montejano

bmj;386/jul30_2/q1685/FAF1faRaul Perez-Montejano was born on the 30 September 1969 in Valencia, Spain, the fourth of five siblings. He studied at Domenico’s, a Catholic boys school, and then obtained his medical degree from the University of Valencia. He graduated in 1993, then undertook a year of training in emergency medicine with the Red Cross as an alternative to compulsory military service. He then trained and worked as a GP in Spain until moving to the UK in 1997 with his wife Barbara, a languages teacher, to pursue a career in psychiatry.His first post in the UK was at Fairfield Hospital in Letchworth before the unit closed. He subsequently spent many happy years in Luton and Dunstable. He was appointed consultant psychiatrist at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton in 2004.
