Peter Robert Jordan
bmj;386/jul30_6/q1673/FAF1faBorn in Nottingham in 1937, Peter attended Mundella Grammar School where he was a keen sportsman. He won prizes in athletics, as well as being captain of the boxing team. He left to train as a teacher in physical education at Loughborough Training College. Peter married his first wife Bernice in July 1960.Alongside teaching he was a professional wrestler where he competed in bouts across the Midlands, north of England, and while in Singapore teaching. It was here that Peter decided to apply to Barts Medical School. He was accepted for a place starting in 1963. He had happy memories of this time, including the birth of his first son Nigel. He made a great many great friends through the amateur dramatics society, and hockey and rugby teams. He also won a number of academic prizes.He graduated in 1969 with his first job at Barts before moving to Redhill Hospital…
