Anaesthetists group raises over {pound}50 000 for legal action against GMC over regulation of associates

A group of anaesthetists is raising funds for a legal challenge to the General Medical Council’s plans for regulating physician associates (PAs) and anaesthesia associates (AAs), claiming the GMC’s role will blur the lines between doctors and those who are not medically qualified.1The council, the regulator for UK doctors, is to take on the added function of regulating PAs and AAs in December 2024.
