UK’s specialty and specialist doctors will vote on pay offer worth 6-9%
The BMA has agreed to put a pay offer to the UK’s specialty and specialist doctors in the new year, after what it described as intense negotiations with the government.The offer proposes pay uplifts of 6.10-9.22% for specialty and specialist doctors on the 2021 contracts, depending on experience and where they are on the pay scale.1 While there are no changes to pay points for closed contracts, SAS (specialist, associate specialist, and specialty) doctors on these contracts will be able to move to the 2021 contract if they wish to.For doctors on the pre-2021 contracts this offer is in addition to a 6% pay uplift for 2023-24 recommended by the Review Body on Doctors’ and Dentists’ Remuneration (DDRB).
