Results in US state and local elections this week showed that voter anger unleashed by the US Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v Wade last June1 remains a potent force, as it powered Democrats to a string of victories in regions normally considered fertile ground for Republicans.In Ohio, a state that Trump won by eight points in 2020, a referendum on changing the state constitution to enshrine abortion rights passed by 56.6% to 43.4%.
