The youngest of seven children, he attended Abbey CBS Grammar School and was a tenacious Gaelic footballer, claiming several county titles for his local club, St Patrick’s GAC. He is remembered fondly as a man who excelled academically while being “great craic,” and who was always happy to help his father, Charles, and brother, Terence, with the farm.In recent years he returned to Craigavon Area Hospital in County Armagh, to complete his postgraduate training in anaesthetics. He is remembered by the Southern Health and Social Care Trust as a “highly respected and valued member of their anaesthetics team.” Friends and colleagues have praised him as a committed lifelong learner, dedicated to his clinical teaching, and an excellent doctor.He died at Craigavon Area Hospital, his place of work, after taking ill at the health and wellbeing suite of the South Lake leisure centre…
