bmj;383/oct10_13/p2315/FAF1faThe Evans family are sad to announce the death of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Howard Conway Evans, who, after a short period of illness died peacefully on 21 January 2023.Howard was born in Middlesex and educated at Merchant Taylors’ School. While studying medicine, he met his future wife, Anne, a state registered nurse who also trained at Guy’s. Howard pursued his ambition to be a GP, specialising in anaesthetics. He also held a special interest in obstetrics. While at Guy’s he held “in the face of heavy competition” positions of assistant house physician, casualty officer, house surgeon, and resident anaesthetist.
