Strike action: Junior doctors in England announce fifth walkout in August
Junior doctors in England will take further strike action in August, as their dispute with the government over their pay continues.The four day walkout by junior doctors will take place between 7 am on Friday 11 August and 7 am on Tuesday 15 August, the BMA’s Junior Doctors Committee announced on 26 July. In a joint statement the committee’s co-chairs, Robert Laurenson and Vivek Trivedi, once again urged the government to come to the table in a bid to break the deadlock.They said, “It should never have got to the point where we needed to announce a fifth round of strike action.
