He demonstrated this in teaching practical interventional procedures all over the world—in particular, in developing countries. He also had, colleagues say, a kind, listening ear for anybody and everybody.His passion never dimmed. Witness the story his dermatologist daughter, Claudia, tells about taking her children to see their grandparents about 18 months ago. Her father, also an accomplished artist, had bought a lamb’s heart from the butcher’s and made “beautiful” anatomical drawings of the heart in red and blue to help him demonstrate.
