In the paper by Jacobs and colleagues (BMJ 2023;381:e074968, doi:10.1136/bmj-2022-074968, published 17 May 2023), “male counterparts” should appear as “men” in the third paragraph of the section “Strengths and limitations” as their analysis focused solely on gender.
