Pfizer (PFE) has accelerated the timetable for testing a Covid-19 vaccine and it could be ready for emergency use in the fall if it proves safe in testing, The Wall Street Journal reports. Testing has already started in Germany and could start in the U.S. as early as next week if health regulators sign off. Results could come as early as next month, but Pfizer would need to do more testing to make sure the vaccine works safely. If testing is successful, Pfizer could start distribution on an emergency basis in the fall and receive approval for widespread distribution by year’s end.
