New coronavirus cases in California and Oregon likely from community spread

The new coronavirus may to be spreading in parts of Northern California and Oregon, with both states reporting Friday that they have diagnosed cases with no travel history or known contact with another case.

Health officials in Santa Clara County reported a case of so-called community spread late Friday afternoon — the second in the northern part of the state in the past few days.
