CDC reports rare allergic reactions to Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine
The Moderna Covid-19 vaccine, like the one made by Pfizer and BioNTech, appears to induce rare anaphylactic reactions in a small number of people who receive the vaccine, new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest.
The CDC reported Friday that 10 people — all women —who received the Moderna Covid vaccine between Dec. 21 and Jan. 10 developed anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction that can be life threatening if not treated quickly. These 10 cases, among more than 4 million doses administered, represent about 2.5 cases per 1 million doses given.
