STAT+: Trump’s making last-minute drug pricing reforms — and surprisingly, Democrats want Biden to keep the biggest one

WASHINGTON — President-elect Joe Biden has already pledged to dismantle a number of Trump-era policies and regulations. Democratic advisers, however, say he’d be wise to keep one of the slapdash drug pricing reforms that Trump touted during a White House briefing Friday.

The biggest policy will tie what the U.S. pays for approximately 50 pricey drugs to what other countries pay. The proposal is ready to be implemented, but much of the implementation will still fall to President-elect Joe Biden, who is slated to take office in two months.
